Our finish line water is now provided by ACTIPH water. ACTIPH water bottles are BPA free allowing therefore making them 100% recyclable and reusable. The switch to ACTIPH water at the finish line has significantly reduced the amount of one use plastic at our events.
Our RunThrough running vests, sold in our kit, are made from recycled plastic bottles.
The top layer is made from recycled plastic bottle fabric. Around 10 plastic bottles were recycled in order to make the vest. The bottom layer next to skin is carbonised bamboo fabric which keeps the vest soft and wicking for the life of the garment.
We at RunThrough where the first running events company to use Ohoo.
Ooho provide on course water within edible and biodegradable packaging. It's made from Notpla, a material combining seaweed and plants. Ooho biodegrades in 4-6 weeks, or you can just eat it.
At all RunThrough races we have eliminated plastic goody bags. We believe there is no need for a physical bag as it simply adds to wastage and the amount of single use plastic at our events – the majority of runners have bags with them and can therefore carry all items in their own bag.
Runners are offered their well earned post race goodies, which would make up the contents of a goody bag, as individual items laid out on tables at the finish line.
We at RunThrough operate a paper free administration process for all events.
All entries are taken online. Pre race communications and information is distributed via email and website publication. Runners race packs are collected at each race. Results are published online and shared through further email communications.
All our clothing factories, producing RunThrough Kit are SMETA audited.
SMETA is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world, to ensure our products are sustainably sourced and all products are manufactured to the highest ethical manufacturing standards.
All water bottles distributed on course and collected after the race are recycled within seven days of the event.
We actively separate all recyclable bottles from our general waste at every event before it is collected by the venue or local authority.
